Salt Storage Tips and Guidelines

Our pure salts can last indefinitely when stored in dry, air-tight containers. Moisture is an enemy to salts and can cause the salts to clump up.

Tip: If you discover that your finer grain salts have large clumps in them, sift out the clumps and use your blender to unclump them. Start at a low speed to ensure that you don't accidentally turn your salts into a fine, dust-like powder

Bath Salts That Include Vegetable Oils

Salt is considered a pro-oxidant because it accelerates the speed in which vegetable oils go rancid. As such, vegetable oils that are prone to oxidation are more likely to smell rancid in a short period of time if they are included within a bath salt blend. To add oil to bath salts, choose a stable oil like watermelon seed, fractionated coconut, or jojoba. Alternatively you can add anti-oxidants like our T-50 and T-80 mixed tocopherol oils to help prevent rancidity.
